Approved by the American Medical Association in 1958, hypnotherapy has long been known as a beneficial, evidence-based solution for stress, habit control, and self-improvement.

The article Hypnosis: The Most Effective Treatment You Have Yet to Prescribe published in the American Journal of Medicine (3/2021) mentions “robust evidence” for using hypnosis “for myriad ailments” and “sound mechanistic data” that supports its use.

As someone involved in research at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), I can tell you that there are studies showing how well hypnotherapy works for different problems like anxiety, stress, changing habits, and pain management.

The data researcher collected a few years ago, the findings are that LIGHT seems to shift frontal alpha asymmetry toward left hemisphere dominance, which is a positive thing.

In addition, a study showed that individuals displayed lower alpha power in the left hemisphere when watching a tender film, suggesting a degree of emotion regulation further supporting the finders.
